Our Friends

I have met some great people along the way and some, not so great people. I have been lucky enough to have friends that are willing to give me advice and a helping hand.  I met two of my friends while I was searching for show dogs. The very first one that I met via email was Janet McAlister of Phlicks Maltese.  Janet was so helpful to me, she was very honest whenever I asked her opinion on anything. That is Janet, honest and to the point. That is what I like about her. After years of emailing back and forth, Janet and I finally met in Murfreesboro, TN at a dog show.

The other person I met was Denise Rodhe of Dar lynns' Maltese, we met and chatted for quite a while and then I went to visit my friend and family in Miami and flew to visit Denise in Tampa. We had such a great time and we really enjoyed getting to know each other in person.  Denise and I have been through thick and thin and to hell and back and always seem to come out of it with a whole new understanding of each other. Our friendship has endured many trials and tribulations.

When my husband and I made the trip to Orlando, FL. to the specialty, we met Anna Stringer. Anna is the breeder of Navar.  She showed him beautifully at the Specialty. We will always be grateful to Anna for a wonderful dog.

On this same trip we met Amy Preuett of Sands Maltese.  Amy was showing her dog at the Specialty also, "Sands Magical Tonka Toy". I liked her style of showing dogs and she seemed to really know what she was doing. I was impressed with the way she showed.  When we got ready to leave, Amy said that she knew we were headed to TN after the show and maybe we could get together for dinner or something. I told her I would love to, and that is just what we did. When I got to TN, I went to the Murfreesboro show and I got together with Anna, Janet, Amy, and Eva and Chris Gillett of Unforgettable Maltese, Amber Jump of Ma-Lo Maltese and a few others for dinner.

We had a wonderful time and I have gotten to know Amy very, very well since then. Amy did a great thing for my daughter, when my daughter lost her pet Dallas, Amy called me on the phone and offered to give my daughter a Champion sired female. Not many people will just give someone a champion sired female. But that is just what Amy did and she never asked for anything in return, but for Autumn to love her . Amy opened her heart to my daughter and my daughter will forever be grateful to her for Petals.  Autumn just adores Amy and sometimes calls her just to let Amy know she is thinking of her.

The very dog that Amy showed at the AMA Specialty, the first time we met, Am. Ch. Sands Magical Tonka Toy is the sire to my pup.  My husband had commented that day how nice he thought that Tonka was, not knowing that someday we would have one of his offspring.

And Eva's female Ch. Coquet's Jeweled Trinket is the dam. Who would have ever thought back then that we would all connect in this way. I feel so lucky to have met all the people I have mentioned on this page and hope to continue many years of wonderful friendships with them all.  I look forward to seeing them all again real soon.

Even though I live far away, they still continue to include me as though I am right there. They always call to tell me how they did and when I was in the ring with Navar, they would call and wish me luck and check to see how I did.  I love the network of friends I have and look forward to making more.
